Where did 2008 Go ?

Well honestly I can say that I have no idea where it went. This has been a real fast year in my eyes. We have continued to keep busy with jobs, family life, and kids stuff. Hopefully next year will be slow enough that I can think straight. I'm sure it won't.

All is well on the home front. Devin is growing up so fast. Is into Bakagun whatever that is ? Still can't quite understand that. Loves to play soccer whenever possible. Keara is growing into a mature young woman and it scares me to death that I have a 12 year old. She loves to babysit and keeps getting more and more jobs lined up. Derek keeps up with his favorite teams but enjoys time with family and in some cases has not even said "No, we can't go do that." when there's a game on. Myself well I'm as always a workaholic and rarely take time out for myself. I will be helping out with the upcoming new hire class starting January 5th and am excited to share my knowledge and give my support. I am so happy I still have a job and even with the many rumors circulating I'm glad that I am only losing benefits and not my job. Some people complain about losing a day of pay but I look at it I'm thankful I have a job and am able to get paid.

Derek's Mom and Dad got moved into their new house on December 13th and most of our time this season was spent helping them...therefore no letters or Christmas cards this year. However, I am so excited for Janice and Dave to have a space that they can finally call their own. Many of you that know me know what I mean by this. I know that it has been a long time coming but I'm glad that they have a nice home to help them start out a new.

My Mom and Dad are hanging in there as much as possible. Life threw them a kink when they had to put our dear "Lassik" to sleep a few weeks before Christmas. My Mom says she would like to go see "Marley and Me" but says she will have to take a whole box of klennex with her. I really don't think so but it definately has been hard for all of us.

My brother and his family is so adorable. I love all the time and cherish it that we get with them. Mac is growing up so much. It was funny the other day Derek made a point that Miles has grown more than any of us since our cruise a few years ago. Pretty funny considering Miles wasn't even conceived.

Well going to go eat I'm hungry.

I am working late hours on Monday's until the end of the year. I am dealing with a now 12 year old. SHOCK I KNOW. and then a eight year old. Boy do they grow. I Did it !

Well today I went to the doctor. If I knew how much pain I would be in I would of not done it. They say it lasts only 24 to 48 hours. Everything went well. I go back next month to se if everything is better. I'm hoping that by then my blood pressure is under control if not I think she'll recommend me to go to a internal medicine doctor to get things under control. I go back to business as normal tomorrow for two days and then I get the day off for the 24th. Then work for two days off again. Pretty funny I had two days off, two days on, one day off, two days on. You would think that I wanted to take a few days off. Hope everything goes as planned this weekend and we get to see the movies we want to.

Pretty Scarry

Every year I get closer and closer to being 40 and that just amazes me. Where did the time go ? So we survived the week after the 4th of July in fact it went pretty fast. This week has been a busy one. Sunday we got together with my family for mine and my brothers birthdays. Monday was an exciting one for the family. We went to the American Idol 2008 Tour. That was exciting and fun. Keara enjoyed it and Devin got a little bored. All in all it was really fun. Tuesday Keara had a dentist appointment so Derek stayed home with the kids and I went to work to spend my birthday, crazy huh ! We went to exchange my birthday present from my brother and his family for a bigger size (I really hate having a big chest). We tried a new restaurant in Riverdale--Texas Roadhouse it was really good. We then came home to relax. The kids got me some really pretty jewelry, new wallets, and Derek got me some new outfits.

Thursday Keara left for Star Valley, WY with a friend she will be back on Sunday she calls every night to tell us what fun she is doing. I think that her brother is missing her but don't tell him I told you. Devin spent today with his Grandpa Eccles. They went to see the Batman movie He said He liked it. Surprised He sat that long 2 hours and 32 minutes is a long time to sit.

Next week I will be getting my IUD on Monday. I plan on sleeping as much as I can that day. I haven't been sleeping much. The last time I had a good night sleep was on July 5th. I don't understand why I can't sleep when they work on the freeway behind our house. The funny thing is I fall asleep fine but then after Derek goes to sleep the noise and the rolling of the steam roller keeps me up. Derek told me today he thinks it's cause I can sleep while the TV's on. Maybe the TV will have to stay on so that I can sleep. I can't function without sleep. We are hoping that on the 23rd we can go to a Rocky Mountain Review game. The 24th we will be taping the Pioneer Day parades for my mother. Her stake did a float this year and she was on the committee. We plan on going and seeing the movies that we want to see that day, Friday after I get off work, and Saturday after I get off work. We only have 5 that I can remember that we want to see as a family.

Hope all is great with your family. Our love and thoughts are with you wherever you are. Keep in touch !

What a Weekend

We left Thursday to go up to Logan around 3:30. Really nice drive. We got there after a stop at Wal-Mart to get some last minute things around 4:40. We unloaded the car and headed for dinner. We went to Ruby Tuesdays. Afterword we headed for Romney Stadium to see T Minus 5 in concert and the firework show. I can honestly say Logan City puts on a great show. I think that they spent their whole entire budget for the year on the firework show. Minus two things--well one person and one thing... it was wonderful, Bob Bennett came and thought we all needed a history lesson on America and Logan City needs to hire some more competent police officers especially that no how to direct traffic.

Friday we slept in and then went to check out the Car Show. Kids weren't really impressed with that so we went to breakfast, went to the bowling alley, went to the mall to shop, and headed over to the fairgrounds to have something to eat before the concert. Before getting something to eat we went over to see how many people were in line for the concert. Well at 4 there was already a line so we got in line and stayed there to hang out. The boys in front of us were from Bountiful and really knew how to show their support for Styx. Check out the photo below:
After standing in the hot sun for over two and half hours we were able to get the best seats we have ever had for a concert. We were six rows from the front of the stage.

The concert began a hour and half later. At first Derek and I were worried Devin wasn't having fun. But then He got used to things and started having fun. He was having a hard time seeing so some guy (drunk may I add---no alcohol allowed but he was able to find a way to bring it in.) let him stand in front of him and then He lifted him onto his shoulders talk about scared. After I saved him and got him down, Keara and him stood in front of the guy and watched the concert. At which point the security let us go right up front to see the remainder of the concert. It was a cool thing. The kids and I were right there at the barricades. Devin was very lucky and was I happy, Tommy Shaw threw a pick right to him. It hit his chest and dropped in front of the barricade the nice lady next to him leaned down and reached it for him. He was so excited he went back to show Derek. Keara stayed up front with me for a little bit longer before going back to Derek. The security guard of course said no pictures but how can you let this opportunity pass. I was able to get some awesome pictures I have added a couple of my favorite ones below.

After my favorite song Renegade. I went back to make sure the kids were ok and made it back to Derek. After the concert Derek shows me something that as we were up at the front he got. What are the odds of getting this: But after Derek told me how he got it. Let's see Tommy threw it and he went to grab along with how many other people. A pre-teen or young teenager who was sitting behind him went for it at the same time when she got there her and Derek ran into each other. She fell down and Derek picked up the bottled water. I agreed with him and we gave it back to her after taking some pictures. So needless to say we had an awesome time.

Saturday we spent time visiting some of local food attractions and swimming at the hotel. Went to a great steakhouse and got some board games that we don't own and played games in the hotel.

Sunday we woke up and got home around 11. To our surprise to a fridgerator that decided to go out while we were gone. After spending almost a half hour cleaning it up and getting all the coolers filled with the condoments that didn't go bad. We went to the movies to see The Incredible Hulk and Kitt Kiddridge. They were both good. We went to get some dinner in between the movies and afterwards took the kids to Cold Stone.
Unfortunately we have to go back to the real world tomorrow. Yeah ! Sarcasm intended. Until next time enjoy.

Seven Days and Counting

I think that Keara and Devin are getting really excited. We will be leaving on Thursday after I get off work. Then we will be able to have a nice relaxing three days. Keara wants to go swimming. I figure might as well enjoy the time there right. It looks like the weather will be great. Can't wait to have some time off work.
Well back to catching up on the tv shows for the week. Have a great weekend.

Life is as busy as ever

It's been a really busy couple of months. Derek and I made the decision that we would start to get the house ready to put on the market. We were hoping by the end of May but as always things don't always happen the way we want. So then I shot for the middle of May and again stuff happened and we got busy again and time ran out on us. Was hoping the middle of June and then I went to the doctor on June 2nd. What fun she requested that I get some tests done. Made me do something I was hoping I could get a way with not having to do yeah right I'm a woman in my late 30's like a doctor would let me not get a Mammgram. She felt something but they can't determine that it's anything but a mass so they are going to have me come back in six months. Boy am I thrilled. Then she is concerned about my high blood pressure. Me High Blood Pressure yeah right. Stressful Job, Stressful Life how can I not have High Blood Pressure. So watching that closely now. I'm hoping that with some life changes, some medication changes, and exercise it will lower without the medicine. Since the stuff she gave me made me so ill I thought I was going to die. So hopefully we can get the house up in Middle of July but if we don't all I can say is the house looks good and we are just a step a head of getting it up the next time.

Busy times begin soon. This weekend we have a family reunion. Next weekend the kids are ready to jump for joy they get to go to their first rock concert and believe it or not it's Styx. We will be spending three days in Logan and enjoying the cool weather. They say it's going to be hot next week. After that we will rest for a week before going to the American Idol Tour on July 14th. Happy Birthday Ryan ! After that we should have really lots of fun. August we will be going to Snowbird for Derek's 20th High School Reunion.

So we are really looking to enjoying he summer. Got to go get dinner. Hope that all the family is doing great.

See you later and talk to you hopefully soon.
